The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS) will celebrate its 60th Anniversary, during the 2017 Annual Meeting! We invite you to help us commemorate this momentous occasion, to be held November 9-12, 2017 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The theme of our 60th Meeting is "Sex Research Across Disciplines, Distances, and Decades", in recognition of the interdisciplinary and international nature of our organization and its storied history.

We could think of no better place to celebrate our 60th than San Juan, a city where history, diversity, and splendor meet. San Juan is the capital and most populous city of the beautiful Caribbean island of Puerto Rico; an unincorporated territory of the Unites States of America (US). Puerto Rico has a landscape of mountains, waterfalls and El Yunque, which is the only tropical rain forest in the US national forest system. The Old San Juan neighborhood features colorful Spanish colonial buildings and El Morro y La Fortaleza--massive, centuries-old fortresses. In Puerto Rico, the Taíno, African, and Spanish mixture is evidenced in its delicious food and vibrant music. San Juan is also becoming one of the hottest destinations for contemporary art in the world, including stunning street art. No wonder Puerto Rico has been described as one of the happiest places on earth!
The Annual Meeting will be held at El San Juan Resort, a beachfront property located minutes from Luis Muñoz Marín (SJU) International Airport and in the Isla Verde area, which is known for its hotel strip, beach bars, and casinos. Please join us in paradise as we celebrate our Society's incredible achievements and evolution, as well as look toward a promising future in sex research.
For the 2017 Annual Meeting, we are showcasing the most exciting and cutting-edge research and practice from educators, clinicians, and researchers, representing diverse fields, which will push the boundaries, while evidencing both history and future opportunities in sexual science. There will be presentations from all areas of sexuality research, including anthropology, communication, education, natural sciences, medicine, media/film, psychology, public policy, public health, religion, sociology, and other related disciplines.
